Mount Vernon. This was George Washington's home.
They were in the process of remodeling when I visited. These men on the
ladders were painting the house the same was that George Washington did when he
lived there. They would first apply the paint to the house, and then they
would throw handfuls of sand onto the paint while it was still wet. This
gave the house a stone like appearance from up close and also provided more
strength to the paint. No pictures were allowed inside the house. Sorry.
